The Drop Down Radio Pouch securely holds an MBITR style radio and provides greater user functionality as it allows the radio to tilt or “drop down” to gain access to the front keypads. Similar to theMulti-Radio Pouch, the Drop Down Radio Pouch holds a Thales MBITR, Harris Falcon III (PRC 152) or other similar-sized radios.
Installing the radio and configuring the pouch for optimal use is very quick and doesn’t require any tools. The radio installs either through the top or the bottom of the Pouch and is secured with an adjustable side release buckle. The Pouch can accommodate different sized radios with standard or extended batteries with the hook and loop adjustment on the front. Tension on the radio can be controlled by a cord lock on shock cord.
When worn, users can unsnap the side release buckle and move the top strap out of the way. The radio, still held in the pouch, will tilt down, giving the user access to the front keypads and controls. The sides of the pouch are free to allow external antennas or communications cables to be used without removing the radio.
The Drop Down Radio Pouch uses the Patented Helium Whisper® Attachment System for an ultralow weight, low bulk installation. The bottom and front of the Pouch is built with ULTRAcomp™, a battle-proven high performance laminate that prevents the edges and corners of the pouch to abrade through.
